PM Fasal Bima Scheme: The government provides benefits to the farmer brothers by running various schemes. One of these schemes is PM Crop Insurance. Under this scheme, farmer brothers are given insurance in case of crop loss. But some farmers have a question in their mind that if their crop gets damaged due to cold, will they get benefit or not? Let us know…
Extreme cold can spoil the crop, so you can get money from crop insurance. Insurance against crop loss due to winter is available under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme (PMFBY) of the Government of India. Under this scheme, a farmer can get an insurance claim if more than 30% of the crop is damaged due to winter. Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the insurance premium for crop loss due to winter is 1.5%. Farmers pay 85% of the premium, while the government pays the remaining 85%. The farmer has to inform the insurance company about crop loss within 72 hours. Later the insurance company will do a survey and evaluate the damage. The farmer will get an insurance claim if the loss is more than 30%.
